Canonical

A canonical tag is an HTML element that tells search engines which URL should be considered the “preferred” version of a page. It is used to avoid duplicate content by pointing multiple pages with the same or similar content to one main URL. The <link rel="canonical" href="..."> element is placed in the <head> section of a webpage. It helps improve SEO by consolidating link equity and rankings to the designated canonical page.
